Cheat the Reaper

The Senior class came together with the help of Mrs. Friedman and put together "Cheat the Reaper." .This program instilled a sense of caution when approaching illegal concepts such as drinking and driving. The Fire Department and the Police Department brought in wrecked cars and put together a car crash scene. Students from the Senior class acted as the victims. As the high school watched, the devastating scene, they were educated on the consequences of driving under the influence.

Habitat For Humanity

Earlier on this year the senior class was given the opportunity to partake and volunteer for the Habitat For Humanity group. This non-profit organization uses volunteers, under the supervision of trained team leaders, to help build homes for low-income urban families. We had the unique pleasure in building the home for Monique Jones in Hialeah. This was an opportunity to really put our bodies into the Chesed (charity), which gave us a new appreciation for the many things one might take advantage of in their daily lives. It was a fun, educational, and demanding form of Tzeddakah, but I believe we faced the challenge well.
